Ideas and Dog Deshedding Reviews - FAQ and Questions
- Has anyone tried the Furminator dog hair deshedding brush comb?
I am curious about it because my pups leave hair on my shirts and furniture (mostly shirts) but it is about $40 at the vet's office. I may get one off eBay (but would rather buy it at her office so I could get a warranty), but just wondered if anyone had tried it. If so, how did it work? Thanks!
A they're absolutely incredible.. one of the best things ever!!!! I have the small one for my cats, and i use it on my 7 month husky and WOW.. like 10 handfuls EVERYTIME! it's crazy. I'm going to purchase the big one for him as soon as he's full grown. Also.. something else for furniture.. you can get it at walmart, it's called a pet hair magnet, looks like a squeegee.. it's fabulous!! it's 10 dollars It's more geared for dogs that have undercoats though.. that's what it does, it grabs the hair from underneath and pulls it through.. so if you were getting it for a boxer or something.. not a good choice. If you have a short haired dog with no undercoat, the wirey round looking brushes work just fine.. it looks like something they use on horses.

- Can i use my furminator deshedding tool while giving my dog a bath?
i have a border collie/lab/golden mix and he sheds quite a bit so i bought a medium furminator deshedding tool(which works great) and i wanted to know if it would work better if i used it while giving him a bath. i lost the instruction manual that came with it that would tell me if i could use it while my dog is still wet. if you know the answer please help ! (: thanks.
A You're not supposed to use it while the dog is wet. The dog should be completely dry before using the deshedding tool. I give my dog a bath, dry him completely, then brush him out to get rid of tangles (so the deshedder doesn't pull them out) then use the deshedding tool. This article talks about the instructions. It doesn't specifically say not to use on wet fur, BUT the instructions with my furminator say in big bold print, do not use when dog's hair is wet. http://www.furminator.com/treatmentInstr… Hope this helps! **ADD** Here's better directions on the furminator tool itself. And like the instructions that come packaged with the deshedder, it says use only on completely dry coat. http://www.furminator.com/toolinstructions.cfm

Classic Game Room HD reviews THE FURminator dog de-shedding tool. Why review just video games??? We bust out a consumer product review, woohoo!! See the FURminator in action as it removes the undercoat of Stella the Classic Game Room mascot dog. She's a German Shepherd Chow Chow mixed breed with a soft white undercoat of hair that sheds and covers the floors of our house. Her outer coat is red, thick and bristly. The FURMINATOR removes the soft undercoat to reduce shedding, but doesn't strip her bare. How do you use the FURminator? Well watch this product review and see how we used it. CGRHD liked the FURminator in action because it lives up to the hype of a professional dog and cat deshedding tool device. We had to ask ourselves, we're drowning in dog hair... what do we do? Combing doesn't work, she hates vacuums, we can't kindly ask her to stop shedding all year all the time... so we FURMINATED her!!! Watch our dog get FURminated in this exclusive, high quality review of this product as seen in tv and magazines and not in stores or something like that... i don't know, my wife bought it on Amazon. It's pretty awesome but not as cool as the Sega Genesis. Reduce shedding, watch the FURminator review. See the FURminator in action on a medium haired dog!
